We begin our journey in the villages of the province of Pordenone. These picturesque villages offer a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. In Pordenone, stroll through the streets of the historic centre, admiring the ancient palaces and medieval churches. San Vito al Tagliamento, with its historic walls and central square, is another gem worth discovering. Every corner of these villages tells stories of a fascinating past. Continuing on, we head towards the Collioone of Italy's most renowned wine-growing areas. Here, the hills are covered with vineyards that produce world-famous wines. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to taste fine wines, such as Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, directly from the local cellars. PROGRAMME:

DAY 1 : PORDENONE, CHOCOLATE AND GRAPPA

Arrival at the hotel and visit of Pordenone with its characteristic arcades along the main street, once called Contrada Maggiore, today Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The other main artery of the city is Corso Garibaldi, and the nearby Piazza della Motta is also worth a visit. In addition to the Duomo and its bell tower, the Palazzo Municipale and Palazzo Ricchieri (home to the Art Museum), strolling through the historic centre you will admire magnificent palaces, many of which are decorated with frescoes. During the visit, stop at a cioccolateria for a tasting. After the tour of Pordenone, departure for one of the most renowned wineries in the area; light lunch with wine tasting and visit to the winery. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the Nonino Distillery where all visitors are welcome and can see every phase of the activity, without secrets. Visit to the distillation room, distilling Grappa by hand using the ancient steam system and continue to the cellars, where the Grappa rests. At the end grappa tasting return to Pordenone. DAY 2: CONEGLIANO, VALDOBBIADENE AND SACILE (VIA DEL PROSECCO)

After breakfast, departure with the tour guide for a full-day excursion to Conegliano and Valdobbiadene through one of the most important wine roads in Italy: the Prosecco D.O.C.G. Territory. After a tour around Conegliano and its Castle on the mountain, we will proceed to the green hills to visit a magnificent Venetian Villa which houses one of the most famous wine cellars in the area. During the visit we will have lunch in a typical "Osteria" with wine tasting. On the way back a stop in Sacile, the city called "Giardino Della Serenissima" (the Garden of the Most Serene Republic of Venice) thanks to its Venetian atmosphere and harmonious architecture: many Venetian-style palaces built on the banks of the river and reflected in the water. Dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight stay.

DAY 3: CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI AND COLLI ORIENTALI - FINE WINES

After breakfast, check-out and departure for Cividale, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Cividale was founded by Julius Caesar with the name Forum Iulii, in 568 B.C., this small village became the seat of the first Lombard duchy in Italy and then the residence of the patriarchs of Aquileia for several centuries. Cividale still preserves important clues to the history of the Lombard period, such as the Tempietto, one of the most extraordinary and mysterious pieces of architecture of the Western High Middle Ages. This historical and artistic site was recognised by UNESCO in 2011. After a short walk, departure for a renowned Collio winery, tasting of the famous Picolit and other fine white wines with light lunch. Friulian wine is an excellence of the territory and is the result of a tradition dating back to the times of the Roman Empire. Fine wines and 8 D.O.C. award-winning areas, rich in both indigenous and European wines: robust and intense reds and fruity and fragrant whites, recognised and awarded all over the world. At the end, departure for the resort, which is also home to an important and historic winery. Visit with wine-tasting and cheese platter.

DAY 4: GORIZIA, PALMANOVA AND COLLIO

After breakfast, depart for Gorizia for a guided tour in the suspended atmosphere typical of this border town: in the Piazza Transalpina, which until 2004 was physically divided by a wall, you will walk with one foot in Italy and one foot in Slovenia. Thanks to its special geographical position, it has always been culturally influenced by a combination of different civilisations: Latin, Slavic and Germanic. At the end, departure for Collio and stop in a local wine cellar for a visit with wine tasting and light lunch with a selection of local cheeses and cold cuts. At the end departure for Palmanova, built in 1593 by the Republic of Venice, is a fortress town preserved in exemplary conditions: a national monument since 1960, since 2017 part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. DAY 5: VENZONE, NIMIS AND TASTING OF GRAPPA AND PROSCIUTTO DI SAN DANIELE

After breakfast departure for Venzone, completely destroyed by the 1976 earthquake, but magnificently rebuilt as it was in the Middle Ages. In fact declared a National Monument, Venzone is one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" and an extraordinary example of architectural and artistic restoration. Free lunch in the town and in the afternoon departure for Nimis for a guided visit to a Distillery with the distillation room, distilled by hand using the ancient steam system, and then on to the cellars for a grappa tasting. DAY 6: FAGAGNA, VILLA MANIN AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR

After breakfast, check-out and departure for Fagagna, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in the region, visit to the village, the castle and the small country church. Lunch in a typical restaurant and in the afternoon departure to visit Villa Manin, residence of the last Doge of Venice: this noble villa, dating back to the 17th century, is a combination of beauty, history and architectural perfection. After the visit departure for a very interesting balsamic vinegar cellar with the possibility to listen to the history of this particular product linked to the ancient Romans and tasting. At the end departure for Trieste and on arrival accommodation in the rooms. Dinner in a typical restaurant and overnight stay.

DAY 7: TRIESTE AND THE KARST

After breakfast full day tour of Trieste, the most international city in the region, suspended between a glorious past of the "Little Vienna on the sea" and the current cosmopolitan city. Guided tour of the historic centre, Piazza Unità and Palazzo Stratti with the ancient Caffè degli Specchi; the beautiful neoclassical buildings of the Borgo Teresiano, very important in the Habsburg era, the Roman ruins, the Synagogue and the Orthodox churches. Free lunch in the city and at the end a more detailed visit of the Jewish part, with the synagogue and the Risiera di San Saba, sadly remembered for being a place of Nazi detention. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

DAY 8: TRIESTE AND THE HISTORY OF COFFEE

After breakfast, deparutre for an interesting tour through the historical Cafés of the Art Nouveau Trieste, in fact the city is also known as a producer of coffee since the eighteenth century. Its port is the most important in the Mediterranean for the coffee trade: the beans that arrive here are not only destined for local roasters but also for those from all over the world. This is why in Trieste coffee has also become the rhythm of literature: there are many beautiful literary cafés, historic places with a retro charm, frequented by poets and writers such as James Joyce, Italo Svevo and Umberto Saba.
