Leaving behind the centre of Aviano with its cathedral, dedicated to San Zenone and rich in pictorial works, you return high up on the Pedemontana, along a short path through the woods, you reach the tranquillity of Colle San Giorgio, with its vast meadow and small church dedicated to the saint of the same name, yet another opportunity for a break and to contemplate the Pre-Alps on one side and the vast plain on the other.

Continuing along the hills, through the forest, you will arrive at the Sanctuary of Madonna del Monte in Marsure, another oasis of meditation and silence.

Refreshed by the nature of these places, you proceed surrounded by hills, woods and cultivated fields, true moments of rural poetry that recall the authentic dimension of times gone by, especially in the stretch between Giais and Grizzo. From there it will be a moment to reach the end of the stage in Malnisio. Here you will also discover the power station, now a museum, a charming place full of atmosphere.

In the evening, transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

From the power station you will continue along the ancient conduits that allow you to appreciate the hard work of more than a century ago to give energy to the plain. You will find spectacular views towards the plain and finally, climbing further up, you can admire the ruins of the ancient castle of Montereale. After descending from the hill, pass through the centre of Montereale, pausing to admire the frescoes of the church of San Rocco, another patron saint of travellers and pilgrims, you will find it always open.

The path leads you towards a new surprise, where the plain suddenly becomes a mountain: a bridge where you can be surprised by waters of other colours, emerald and turquoise, those of the Cellina held back by the Ravedis dam. After this refreshment of the view, continue upwards on a CAI path, another opportunity to open your eyes wide. Up here you can sweep the view over the Magredi, the vast alluvial plain formed by the Cellina gravels, which over the centuries has become a veritable steppe, an extremely precious and rare environment in the landscape of northern Italy.

Continuing through the woods, you descend gently to reach the centre of Maniago, the 'City of Knives'.
