Friulian Dolomites Ring: 3 nights - 4 days

The Friulian Dolomites are a secret corner of Italy, a place where nature manifests itself in all its primordial power. Less known than other Dolomite peaks, precisely for this reason they offer an authentic and profound experience. There are no invasive installations or noisy crowds: silence dominates here, broken only by the rustling of the trees and the call of the eagles. Those who choose to visit them do so in order to come into contact with something rare: the raw, pure beauty of the mountains. The jagged peaks, high-altitude pastures, centuries-old forests and clear streams make up a landscape that knows how to excite and regenerate. The Friulian Dolomites guard a unique biodiversity, with flora and fauna that elsewhere have disappeared or are difficult to spot. They are a journey into nature, but also into oneself. Ideal for hikers, photographers, writers or simply for those who need to disconnect, these mountains teach you to look at the world with new eyes. They should be seen at least once in a lifetime to understand how powerful and gentle, at the same time, the authentic face of the mountains can be. Thanks to this experience, you will be able to discover them together with an experienced mid-mountain guide and new travelling companions who share the same passion for mountains and adventure as you.

From here we will walk along the enchanting Truoi from Sclops, the Sentiero delle Genzianelle (Gentianelle Path), which will take us through a succession of fairytale settings: from the Forcella Urtisiel to the vast plateau of Valmenonto the Campuros alpine meadow, a true summer paradise, intoxicating with colours and scents.

We will then cross the Brica fork and the Fork of Hellto descend gently into the upper Val di Suola, lulled by the sounds of wild nature. At the end of the day, the Flaiban-Pacherini Refuge, surrounded by spires and silence, will welcome us. Stop for a packed lunch along the way, dinner and overnight stay at the Flaiban Pacherini Refuge.

We then proceed to the Val dell'Infernowhich has nothing hellish about it but the name, and we will enter the green Val Postegaeuntil reaching the Pordenone Refuge, set in a landscape of extraordinary beauty. Stop for a packed lunch along the way, dinner and overnight stay at Rifugio Pordenone.

DAY 3 - FROM THE PORDENONE REFUGE TO THE PADOVA REFUGE

After breakfast and the collection of our packed lunches, we will begin our adventure towards Val Montanaia, with its absolute symbol, the Bell Tower of Val Montanaiaa monolith standing out in the sky like a 'cry of stone'. We observe it from below, walking at its feet, feeling tiny in the face of such greatness.

We cross the Forcella Montanaia (or, alternatively, the Forcella Segnata) to descend through landscapes sculpted in time, to the Rifugio Padova, nestled between the peaks of the Spalti di Toro and the Cridola, ready to welcome us for the night. Stop for a packed lunch along the way, dinner and overnight stay at Rifugio Padova.

DAY 4 - FROM THE PADOVA REFUGE TO THE GIAF REFUGE

After breakfast and the collection of packed lunches, a memorable traverse into the heart of the Monfalcon Mountains will begin. We will ascend towards Forcella Monfalcon di Forni, dominated by the austere rock walls that guard the Marchi-Granzotto Bivouac, a solitary metal structure that seems to watch over the silence of the amphitheatre that surrounds it.

We will then cross the Forcella del Cason saddle to descend towards the Giàf hut, where our adventure will come to an end, leaving us with images in our eyes that will remain imprinted forever. Alternatively, for those seeking an easier route, it is possible to ascend to Forcella Scodavacca and return more comfortably to Rifugio Giàf.
